Tasting

Light straw yellow, highly expanding fragrance of ripe, juicy fruits, rose garden, a whole bunch of spices, distinct and animating. Freshly picked yellow pears, greengage, young, rich and beautiful. Displays the entire aroma spectrum of Traminer. Pleasant, fruit-driven sweetness in the upper Spätlese-range. Good varietal spiciness mirroring the vintage. Aroma concentration on the palate. Sweet nectarines, fresh kiwi. Finely chiselled and enjoyable. A creamy fruit-drug yet “easy-going” and modern. “Late harvest” is rather an “understatement”. Always juvenile yet a classic type with potential and tradition, for many years now. Finally breaks the will of “dry wine opportunists” as it comes from Turner and Pandkräftn. Our sentimental favorite – since 1980!

Pairing

Oat-apricot-cookies, coriander- agave syrup, pistachio buiskits, sweet chestnut soup, kaki-crème brûlée, sorbets with spicy fruit combinations such as William pear with cloves, red mould cheese paired with chutneys, small goose liver balls and stewed pears, red mould cheese affinated almost to an “illegal” extent such as Epoisses, Le Cacouyard etc., to accompany “ladies’ meetings” or in case gentlemen run low of red wine, or just before they final turn to a double magnum of Blaufränkisch Reserve 2016 or to bridge the time until another bottle is decanted. Or just for fun.
