Spicy Apples with Glazed Almonds

- 4 Braeburn apples
- 50 g ground cinnamon
- 50 g sugar
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 20 g butter
- a hint of pepper
- 3 tbsp. brown sugar, approx. 30 – 40 peeled almonds
- Remove the apple core, peel and slice the apple into horizontal layers. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar and reconstruct the original form of the apple by systematizing the horizontal layers.
- Place the reconstructed apple into a fire-resistant form covered with baking paper. Put butter into the hole created by the removed apple core and bake in the oven for about 10 minutes at a temperature of 180°C.
- Melt sugar at moderate heat (add some water or stewed juice if necessary), add almonds and serve together with the baked apples.
